Hi, in the Lehigh County history, it states, Henry "Bauman", son of
Henry and Catharine Dreisback," Bauman", settled in what was known as
Hassertville, where he died at the age of 92 years. He married ___Kuntz,
and had 10 children, Daniel, Adam, William, Joseph, Sara Bauman, who
married Reuben Hagenbach, of Lehigton, Susanna, wife of a tavern Keeper,
near Kresgeville, named Berlin, Mrs. Butler of Nesquehoning, Rachel, the
wife of Jonathan Haintz of East Penn, Mary, the wife of August Leher,
and Rebecca, the wife of Dr. Yarrington, of Easton.

Anna Mary Bauman, was born Feb. 4, 1776 and died March 28, 1864, she
married Jacob Snyder, he died in 1813. Children; Mary C. the wife of
John Kuntz, Daniel, Jacob., John, Stephen, Simon, and Solomon Snyder.

Susanna B. Bauman, was born Oct. 27, 1768, died March 28, 1842, She
married Christoper Kern and had 9 children;


John Dieter Bauman, eldest son of Henry and Catharine (Dreisbach)
Bauman, was born in 1772. In 1796 he settled where Bowmanstown now
stands. On May 17, 1796, he married Margaret Newhard, born Sept. 2,
1779, the d/o Peter Newhard and his 2nd wife , Ctharine Miller and they
had 12 children. kate who married Jonas Peter of Heidelberg, Jacob,
John, Susanna, who married Jonas Andreas of East Penn, Jonas, David,
Sarah who married Daniel Keiper, of Allentown, Peter, Henry, Rebecca,
Dennis and Joshia.

name changes
"Jacob Bowman", the eldest son of John Deiter "Bauman", born March 28,
1790 in Towamensing township. He died Oct 17, 1877. He married June 9,
1829, Elizabeth Weiss, born Dec 5, 1808, d/o Thomas and Elizabeth (Solt)
Weiss, and granddaughter of Col. Jacob Weiss, a soldier of the Rev. Mrs.
Bowman died in 1883.
They had 10 children, 3 who died in infancy, Amelia, wife of Cornelius
Snyder, Eliza, the wife of John Seem, Sarah, wife of Judge Levi Wentz,
Bishop Thomas Bowman, Janes, Ellen, the wife of Perry Wannmaacher, and
Wesley W. Bowman

Hagenbuch Family
The name orignally was Bach Von Hagen, which was changed to Hagenbuch.

Among the pioneer settlers of PA., was Andreas Hegebuch, who with his
wife, Magdeland, emigrated from Germany on the ship 'Charming Nancy",
Oct 8, 1737. He settled as early as 1742, in Allemangel, or Albany
township, Berks County

Owing to the massacres and depredations in Albany township the Hagenbuch
family withdrew from that terriorty. Among the sons of the pioneer were,
Henry, Christian, Jacob, and John, all soldiers of the Rev. from
Northampton County and settled in Northampton (now Lehigh) County

Henry Hagenbuch had settled in Northampton Town (now Allentown) as early
as 1773, being licensed that year to keep a tavern. He was commissioned
at a Lt., on May 22, 1775 of the Salisbury Company with the total rank
and file of 100 men. On July 9, 1776, he was commissioned Captian of a
company, which was part of the flying camp of 10,000 men commanded by
Col. Hart.

After the Rev., he continued to live in Allentown being succeded in the
hotel buiness by his son, Jacob, and he by Jacob2 whose sons, Benjamin
J., and Charles H., carried on the "Cross Keys"

Henry Hagenbuch was born Jan 20., 1736, died in Allentown, April 20,
1805. He was married to Susanna (Wettsein), died 1823, both are buried
at the old Allentown cemetery.

Jost Dreisbach was born Nov. 21, 1721 and died Oct. 17, 1794. He married
Elizabeth Rachenberger, their daughter Catharine, born March 5.1754,
married Henry "Bauman".

Mary married John Coleman, John and Elizabeth.
