Monroe County-Kistler
Milo Kistler, subject, of Tannersville, Monroe County. His beautiful
home was called Glenwood Hall.
I. Michael M. Kistler, grandfather. of Lynnville, Lehigh county.
Children; Stephen, Michael, of East Stroudsburg, William, of Delaware
Water Gap, Joel, Daniel of Schuylkill county, Jacob of Lynnville,
Angelina, wife of Peter Seip of Lehigh county and Mary, wife of J.
Snyder
II. Stephen, was born in Lehigh, reaching manhood, he moved to
Lehighton, Carbon County. In 1825 He came to Pocono township. In Lehigh
county he married Hettie Mosser, d/o Jacob and Magdalena ("Oswold")
Mosser. She died April, 1878, age 62, and he died March 16, 1880 age 65.
Children; Charles who married Ann Elizabeth Woodling,he died at age 42.
Rufus who married Jane Ettinger, they lived in McKean County, Angelina,
buried in Carbon County, Wilson, married Henrietta Stauffer, they lived
in Lock Haven, PA., Alfred died in infancy, Mary Elizabeth, married John
H. Leash of Monroe County, Milo, Michael D., who married Sena Siebert,
they lived in NC
III. Milo, was born in Pocono township, Aug 31, 1854. At Maxatawny
township, Berks County, married Jan. 27, 1876, Alice C. Clader, d/o
Daniel and Sarah (Fisher) Clader. Her great-great-grandfather, Valentine
Clader was born in Germany, June 26, 1726, came to Northampton County
where died Aug 7, 1775. He married Dec. 12, 1749. He had 9 children; one
of whom was Adam who was killed by Indians. Another was Jacob Clader,
was was the great-grandfather of Mrs. Kistler. He was born Feb, 8, 1751,
died March 25, 1832. He married twice, first to a Miss Sherer, by whom
he had 6 children; Joseph, the grandfather, Abraham, John, Isaac, Mrs.
Sallie Francis, and Mrs. Polly "Bost". Second wife was a Miss Kolp and
they had children; Valentine, Jacob, Hannah, and Eva.
Joseph Clader, died Feb. 26, 1849, age 62y 9m 12d., he married Catharine
Gangewere by whom he had children;; John; Levi, of Allentown, Owen and
Elizabeth.
Daniel Clader, father of Mrs. Kistler, was reared in Allentown, he
married Sarah Fisher and they had 2 children; Albert J., who married
Mary Jones and they lived at Delta, PA., and Alice C., who was born Dec.
26. 1853 and she married Milo Kistler.
