I am not a Pace Descendant but have been interested in the Pace
lineage since finding Francis Pace as a witness to the will of Thomas
Burge,1751,Prince George,Va. Thomas Burge is my ancestor, his next
to youngest son Woody Burge b 1743 Prince George,Va d 1833
Rutherford,NC is my direct line. Thomas Burge had 9 sons and 7
daughters. I've studied the sons for about 10 years and the daughters
only recently.

Want to thank digest 174 for listing descendants of
John Pace and Sarah Burge! It would appear that Sarah Burge is
possibly the daughter of my Thomas Burge. I do not have a birth date
for Sarah but believe the one listed for her in this chart is possibly
to late. Thomas Burge appears to have been married twice,possibly
both wives names were Mary,the first proven birth date is for a son
Thomas b 1721 Bristol Parish,d 1760 Amelia,Va. The son Thomas,however
is probably his 6th child,with sons John,Richard d 1760
Amelia,Va,William d 1770 Amelia,Va and daughters Martha (Pittillo in
will)Priscilla Burge and Amy Burge and Sarah Burge all believe to have
been born befor Thomas b 1721,belonging to his first wife and sons
James d 1791 PR Geo,Nathaniel d 1804 Brunswick,Va,Frederick d 1814
Brunswick,Va,Alexander b 1746 d 1814 Stokes,NC.;and daughters
Elizabeth Raines(possibly Thomas),Mary Parham(possibly Lewis)Lucy
Taylor(proven John Taylor by deed found Amelia,Va ) And my Woody b
1743..

I see others think this John Pace was married to a Sarah Pope. Is it
possible John was married twice and both named Sarah?? Would
appreciate more information on John and Sarah's children,especially
their places of residence. I have found Paces' residing several
places the above grchildren of Thomas Burge d 1751.
Naming a few:NC: Rutherford,Wake,Nash,North Hampton,.
Ga:Warren,Baldwin
SC: ,Tn:Rutherford, Ky:Madison,Jefferson,Shelby(suddenly my mind a
blank.
Va:Prince George,Brunswick,Dinwiddie.Amelia, Mecklenburg/Henry(my
Woody first in Mecklenburg/Henry,Va then Surry,NC,Stokes,NC and last
Rutherford,NC. Cornelius,Newsome,John Pace names seen Henry,Va.

A Richard Burge,grson Thomas d 1751 had son Richard who md a Frances
and had children Richard md Amy Byrd Wake,NC who had son Richard who
married Nancy Massey lived Tn(memory Rutherford or Hardin and later
moved to Ark. The Richard,grson appears to have been a loyalist who
left Amelia Co.,Va for Fairfield,SC,moved to Nash Co;,NC and back to
Fairfield,Sc where he died 1798. He also had son Jeremiah and Burrel.

1782 Dinwiddie Land records shows both Burge's and Pace's.
1784 John Pace of North Hampton in deed mentions Burge's former land

In 1816 Augustine Burge was executor will of Stephen Pace o
Petersburg,Va. This Stephen's father was Bignal,brothers James and
William and sister Winsey Pace and Mrs David Smith were sisters. Any
one place these Pace's???
Augustine Burge,grson of Thomas d 1751 and son of James d 1791 Prince
George,Va. Believe this James Burge also had son Richmond Burge who d
Ky.

Forgive my rambling,you see I really can not prove athing about the
Paces's,just offering information I have that I hope someone can piece
together and prove something. Can anyone tell me more about the
Francis Pace who witness Thomas Burge will 1751 Prince George,Va??? Is
there a Mary Pace missing who could be the first wife of Thomas??? or
his second???. Believe one of his wives was Mary Chambliss,based on
fact Thomas wife Mary and John Chambliss were named ex of his will
1751.

Will be glad to answer Burge questions and check for Pace information
my records but do not have much not mentioned. Will appreciate any
information any one has that ties the two families together,would also
like residence of John/Sarah Pace and their children. Thank you !
