Randy and Dena:
You may have noticed the recent discussion on the PACE mail list re the
children of John Pace, Sr. and Sarah (Anderson) Pace, especially concerning
Ruth Lambert Pace. I think you are the only source I have for Ruth Lambert
Pace as their daughter.
In case you didn't see it, the Rutherford County, TN County Court Minutes for
1811 to 1815 compiled by Carol Wells (Heritage Books) shows: p. 135, Order
Samuel Killoug, George Wallace and John Davidson meet at late dwelling of
John Pace Decd and lay off one years provision for Sarah Pace. Order Sarah
Pace apptd gdn for children Linny Pace, Matilda Pace, John Pace, James Pace
and Polly Pace, Minor Heirs of John Pace decd; bond with John Hill & Barbaba
Strickland as her securities.

Note that Barnabas Strickland was also the security for John's brother James
who died at the same time. The date of this court order has to be 1815. As
you can see there is no mention of Ruth Lambert Pace, and the children Linny,
Matilda and James were apparently previously unknown to Pace researchers. Is
it possible that Ruth was for some reason referred to as Matilda or Linny?
Most importantly, several of us on the Pace list would like to know what the
evidence is that Ruth was their daughter. Is it possible that she could be
instead one of the unidentified daughters of William Pace and Ruth Lambert's
other sons?
