I believe that Joel Sr. left Virginia from Henry County and Spencer sold hid property to his father in law in Amelia County and left from there. It is interesting that several family members left Virginia about the same time but all ended up in different parts of Kentucky.
The Joel Pace in Woodford County could be a son of Spencer and Mary Haymes. If so his spouse would be Sally Cope who was born ca. 1800 and married at 13 years. The John Pace in Cumberland County may be the Preacher John Pace who married Margaret Irving in King and Queen County Virginia. He was the son of Benjamin Pace of King and Queen. I have not researched these but shooting off the top of the noggin. Jack

Jack:
It looks like you are correct. The two Paces I couldn't identify in the 1820
IL census, Spencer in Jefferson Co. and Joel in Franklin Co, were probably
both sons of Joel Pace, Sr.
If so they were living on their own as they didn't marry until 1826 (Spencer)
and 1822 (Joel, Jr.).
Apparently Joel Pace, Sr. and his brother Spencer arrived in KY together
about 1805 to 1810 but Spencer remained in KY the rest of his life, being on
the 1820 census of Todd Co, KY. Thanks for clearing that up.
