It is well to remember that the 1820 census is called a "military"
census by professional genealogists as there is a possibility that a
male child under 21 could be counted twice. We learn to look at the
original census to look at the column of total members in the family to
see if this occurred in the listing of our ancestor. The 1820 census
even with only slash marks has much additional info if you look at the
original. This info is helpful in determining the origins of the
listed head of the household.

Gordon you forgot that there are those with PACE blood who do not carry
the name of PACE in the census -- the females --

When Elizabeth Nunn the wife of Captain John PACE died (the last
record I have found for her is 1792) All of their children (sons and
daughters) except daughter (Millie) left Henry County and moved to
Kentucky when Polly BAKER STONE moved in with Captain John.
Historically we know that before 1850 our ancestors moved in groups
(after 1850 they could have used trains) -- These ten children are
all named in his will (William Jr., Lucy, Thomas, Susannah, Oney,
Elizabeth, Sarah/Sally, John Jr, Polly, Milly who stayed in Henry
county and court records show that they came or sent a family member to
represent them when the estate was settled. My second great
grandfather William I HUGHES represented his mother Susannah PACE
HUGHES and his uncle Tom PACE who lived in Franklin and Shelby counties
in Kentucky. He (William I )registered with power of attorney for them
as shown in the Henry County court records.

Captain John's brothers Joel (went to KY), Newsom (stayed in Henry
County VA)as did William Jr.

Langston PACE, brother of Captain John. and his nephew William Ingram
son of Captain John married sisters Millie and Sally NUNN. Langston
named a son William Ingram. Langston settled in what became Metcalf
county and William I a few miles away in Barren county.

Spencer PACE the other brother settled in Christian county his sons
were John, William, Joel, Langston and Daniel
