Joe all I know when my Son was in school his High School was near the
Umatila Indian Reservation as a School Biology Project they did some kind of
blood test and it showed my son probably had more true Indian blood in him
than a lot that lived on the Reservation...Per the Teacher.... My Son does
not grow much facial hair he has only maybe two or three Wiskers on his
face and never shaves... he can grow a sparsely Mustache only, the rest he
cuts with Scissor which is abt three..The teacher also said that was a good
indication of true Indian Blood also....He has thought abt doing the Test
they have out now, He too said, it was Spendy, but when I asked him, he did
not know how much only what he had heard.. He also get indian blood from his
Dad's Grandmother and we have been told they have to be from the same tribe
to count for anything if using both side of family ...and I have heard its
real hard to prove on the Reservation....I don't know if Reservation count
DNA Tests in this time frame.

I wonder if a mitochrondrial DNA test on a purely female line descendent
would establish whether or not this gggGrandmother was in fact pure Indian?
"my GrGrGrandmother was reported as being half Indian and her Mother Abagail
Creech a full blooded Indian"
I know that there are specific Indian ancestry tests, but these are quite
expensive compared to the regular mtDNA tests. Would the regular test be
sufficient to conclude with a reasonable level of confidence that the
maternal line goes back to a Native American? I'm curious because of
possible application in my own maternal line.
