Gee This is kinda exciting but Gordon what documentation do you have to
prove this up. So I did ck with Census ....I have the 1910 Census Harlan Co
Ky showing who was Mother of Jasper Pace age 52 shows his Mother was Mary
Ann Osborne age 78 in HH in searching back we find Mary Ann Osborne names
her Children, Miracle's and Osborne's One being Jasper b- abt 1858 and
Jasper Osborne and Rachael Hensley Married in the Colored Marriages of
Harlan Co Ky ..
Here is a bit of Doc 1860 Cen Todd Co yours
Wm Pace 38
Nancy Pace 30
Thomas Pace 8
Moses Pace 10
M J Pace 6
M F Pace 2
1870 Cen Todd Co Wm S Pace age 45 wife Nancy age 30 notice she did not
age..... lists no child names Jasper if born in 1860 he would be on it....
Wm S Pace has these Children
Moses G ,
James S,
Margret J,
Daniel F age 12,
Nancy M age 6,
Lettia D
Lavida J
Infant not named
and three other children all lower ages you Can get 1880 Cen to see ages
1860 Cen Harlan Co HH # 66
William Osborn age 48 Farmer Tn
Catherine(Kate)Osborn age 49 Homemaker Tn
Polly Ann Osborn age 27 Ky Labor in Home (Mary Ann "Polly" was married to
Henry Miracle & divorced )
Andrew Osborn age 22 Ky
Solomon Osborn age 20 Ky
William Osborn age 14 Ky
Tabitha Osborn age 11 Ky
Louisa Clem age 17 Ky
Martha Noe age 20 Ky
Martha Miracle age 5
Jasper Miracle age 8 months (believe this to be Jasper Pace appears in 1900
Census with wife Rachel Hensley)
Henry Miracle was not true to Mary Ann .... he had one on side named Nancy
Lee same time he was married to Mary Ann Osborne all documented by the Lee
Family ...
1870 Census annotated by Janette Nolan
Dist 9 Mt Pleasant P. 0. dated 28 July
HH26
Osborne, Kate age 60 was spelled Osbouren
Mary Ann age 40 -m- Henry C Miracle
Martha age 14 Listed in 1850 Census as a Miracle prob d/o Mary A..Kim says
she was also a Pace child
Jasper Osbouren age 12 Listed in 1860 Census as a Miracle (we think this
could be Jasper Pace appears on 1900 Cen and thru several Census )
Having shown this we do really need DNA to prove who Jasper Pace come
from...Kim thinks a real good Possibility Francis Wm Pace is father as hers
French Pace also went to Prison .. as our Francis Wm Pace Did ... but John
and I found No proof that Francis Wm Pace was father.. so We Do Need DNA

> Kim et all:
> Here is my record of Kim's Pace ancestry:
> 1. Joseph Pace b. 1618 Shropshire, England, m. Margaret Palmer (this
generation I do not consider proven - It comes from the research of Gordon
Pace of Canada).
> 2. John Pace of Middlesex b. 1665 m. Elizabeth
> 3. John Pace, Jr. b. abt 1685 Middlesex Co, VA, m. Elizabeth Montague
> 4. William Pace b. 1724 Middlesex Co, VA, m. Susannah West
> 5. Spencer Pace b. 1763 Pittsylvania Co, VA m. Mary Haymes
> 6. Daniel Pace b. 1792 Pittsylvania Co, VA m. Lettice Hurt b. 1798
> 7. William Spencer Pace b. 1825 Todd Co, KY m. Nancy Duvall
> 8. Jasper H. Pace b. 1860 KY m. Rachel Hensley b. 1858 KY
> 9. Henry Gilbert Pace b. 1881 KY m. Juda
> 10. Paul Pace b. 1913 Lee Co, VA d. 1968 Harkab Co, KY, m. Mary Fee
> (grandfather of Kim)
> Kim says that family lore says that Jasper's mother was a Polly Ann
Osborne, a Cherokee Indian, who had children with a "French Pace" who may
not have been married to her. I don't think this is true as it seems clear
that Jasper was a son of William Spencer Pace and Nancy Duvall. (I have no
record of a French Pace or a Polly Osborne).
> It would be great to get a DNA test from one of Kim's male Pace relatives
for the following reasons.
> We have three DNA test results from descendants of John Pace of
Middlesex's son John Pace, Jr. Two of them match the other results for John
Pace of Middlesex descendants (Kit N5752 and 6501), however Kit 6281, which
comes from a prominent Pace researcher, does not match any other Pace test
result, despite excellent documentation of his ancestry. This person
appears to be quite closely related to Kim's ancestors, as he supposedly
descends from Spencer's son Joel, whereas Kim's ancestor descends from
Spencer's son Daniel. So it will be interesting to see whether or not the
test results will match with Kit 6281.
