Dear Roy:

I think the way you have done this is great. That's how we can keep track
of the sources, and if someone wants to see digital images of the original
Bible records or other records along with the transcriptions, they know it
is in the database.

Joe Anderson is currently transcribing the Pace entries from Deed Books "B"
and "C" for Clarke County, Alabama, and Jeanne Park is proofing them. Some
are already in the database, and we'll be finished in a few months with
those.

Sammy has started sending me the sources for the Mississippi Paces, and one
thing that I did notice in the tax records is the Jinny Pace shows up early,
and that means she has property as she's not paying a poll tax. If we can
find the legal description and trace it, it may give us an idea of who she
is. I haven't done a lot of Mississippi research, so I'm not real familiar
yet with what is available. I'll begin searching the early land records for
Mississippi in the next month.

Thanks,

Val

When we all put our heads together, we always come up with something better,
and I really appreciate the suggestions. I have made another change in both
the results and the donors pages. Please examine them and comment.

I agree that it is time to lay to rest the allegation that these Clark
County Paces are the descendents of John m Sarah. In the new setup I did
not even mention that suggestion, as most of you (and I agree) think it is
just muddying the water, since there is no data supporting John m Sarah, but
there are several pieces of evidence supporting Frederick of Wales. Agreed
that we need to keep searching, and it would be wonderful to find birth,
death, or other data on Frederick himself, but the only evidence we have
points to Frederick, not John m Sarah.

Val, I have included some evidence from the database, and I hope that this
is not overstepping the bounds. I stated that the Pace database was the
source, and indicated that the full records were available to Pace society
members. I believe that this will encourage Pace members to check the
database (I myself am remiss in this), and perhaps encourage non-members to
join.

Again, your comments appreciated.
