You may be thinking of ground-penetrating radar, which is frequently
employed by archeologists and civil engineers. It is usually used to find
ruins and subsurface structures, but some types of GPR equipment have the
resolution necessary to identify graves. However, hiring professionals to do
this can be quite pricey.
