I was born and raised in southwestern Ohio, but my father and my paternal
grandparents all came from the Kylertown area. All my life, everyone in this
area has said "The car needs washed", and "warsh", although years ago I was
teased about the extra "r" in wash by someone who was from Cleveland! My
husband, from Iowa, also has always talked this way, and he's full Welsh.
