Michelle,
For what it's worth, my Irish JAMES family migration
to PA has been partially documented as follows:
--June 1865, Midleton, Co. Cork, Ireland- birth of son
John Christopher JAMES (church birth record).
--? 1867-68, Buffalo, Erie Co. NY--Birthplace
of daughter Elizabeth JAMES (per censuses & her obit)
-- Jan 1870, Arnot, Bloss Twp, Tioga Co PA (coal-mining),
birth of son Albert FRANCIS James (January per obit) plus
1870 Census of family.
-- Before April 1877 -- the family had migrated through
Lycoming and Centre Counties to Clearfield County.
So far I can find NO documentation of ships, or ports
of departure/arrival. But I suspect they departed from Cork, Ireland
and may have come through Canada, down the St. Lawrence.
As Justin noted, Phila or NY or Baltimore are more likely prospects
for you...but Canada may also be a possibility to check out.
