Seeking info on Jonathan CARMALT, b.c. 1765. In 1789 he married Hannah
(PHIPPS) HEWLINGS, widow of Jonathan HEWLINGS, daughter of Isaac and
Aryadne PHIPPS. By her first marriage Esther had a daughter Esther
HEWLINGS, b.c. 1785, m.c.1806 Tiberius J. BRIGHT. Jonathan and Hannah
(PHIPPS) HEWLINGS CARMALT had the following children: Susanna, Caleb m.
Sarah PRICE, Isaac, Rebecca, James, and MaryAnne. The family in
Philadelphia until about 1794 when they were received at Goshen
MM. Later they left Goshen and were received by Abington. Jonathan's
maternal grandfather was Thomas Say, a well-known Philadelphia Quaker.
