I am looking for information on James and Patience (Miller) Davis
before they moved to NC in the 1700s. They were married c. 1760.
Patience was the daughter of Robert and Ruth (Haines) Miller of
Chester Co.

Their son Solomon married Sarah Matthews in Maryland in 1751, and
their son Warrick married Elizabeth Price in 1762.

I descend from Jesse Davis (b. c. 1750) who married Elizabeth
Reynolds in 1781 at Centre MH, NC. The parents of this couple is
not given on their marriage certificate. All the genealogists in
NC give James and Patience as Jesse's parents, and none of them
have a source for this information.

It looks to me that James and Patience would make better
grandparents if we have to make a guess.

If this family belonged to the Society of Friends in Chester
County, maybe someone on the list would have information on them
which could clear up this line :-)
