According to: "History of Chester County, PA" by Futhey & Cope, pg. 725:

"...SMEDLEY, George, migrated from Derbyshire, England in 1682 or 1683, in
company with several of the Friends who settled at Darby. In 1687 he was
married to Sarah GOODWIN, whose maiden name was KTICHEN, the widow of his
intimate friend, John GOODWIN. The marriage was accomplished 'at the
meeting-house upon the front of the Delaware'....His wife, Sarah, died in
1709. About the year 1721, after having settled his son George on the
mansion farm, he removed to Willistown, where he resided with his son Thomas
until his death, in 1723."

According to Chester Co. Wills, George SMEDLEY's will was signed 2/28/1723
and proved 3/29/1723 - place of residence, Willistown, PA.
