It is possible Louis Talley was from another Talley line, not the DE/PA
Talley line. He may have just lived in this area while playing baseball. If
anyone can discover information on this Louis, please contact Charles Weaver
who is researching him: The following is what
Charles wrote to me:

According to my records [game accounts and box scores] Louis Tally played
against the 'Brandywines' of West Chester, PA in 1876. By 1878, I found him
playing for the 'Eries' of Erie, PA. I found no record of him playing in
this region [Wilmington-Chester] after 1878. Please post this query on the
appropriate channels on the web. His traveling companions (players) were
Louis Dickerson, William Smiley, James Curry, and Marr Phillips. Any help on
finding Louis Talley would be greatly
appreciated...I've been building a bio-sketch on him for over 5 years. Use
my e-mail for any responses. I had hoped this Talley had some history in the
Wilmington-Chester region. Those old ball players really disappeared after
they quit baseball. I'm a member of the Society For American Baseball
Research (SABR) 19th Century Committee. Charles Weaver
