I'm sure you're all familiar with the difficulties one runs into with
Welsh names...but, here are another few "wrenches" to throw in, just to
confuse things even more....I was unfamiliar with these customs.
When you see the word verch, this means daughter of...thus Margaret, who
was the daughter of John Morgan could be called Margaret verch Morgan.
It was also the custom to identify individuals with descriptive names,
such as;
Goch or Gough was red
Ddu meant black
Llwydon or Lloyd meant grey
Qwyn - white
Lychan or Fychan - little.
