Isaac Phipp was born on 23 November, 1763, the child of Caleb and Susanna
Crosby Phipps He married Margaret Passmore in 1786, she having been born 26
April, 1767. Isaac died 2 March 1842.
Isaac was the 2nd son Of Susanna and Caleb, the elder son was Elisha
Phipps, born 1 July, 1762, who married Elizabeth Pusey. elisha died 24
Jun3 1842\3 and Elizabeth on 11 April, 1840. Daughter Eleanor Phipps was
born 25 Nov, 1765 and died 25 March 1786; son Crosby Phipps was born 18
August 1769, married Mary Burns in 1791, who was born 23 Sept 1766. Mary
died 28 June 1841, and Crosby 12 Sept, 1832.
This is my own line, through Elisha and Elizabeth's daughter Sarah
Phipps, who married James Newlin.

Caleb Phipps was born in abt 1730 in Milford Mills, Chester co and d.
12-28-1813 on Doe Run, Chester. He was the son of Joseph Phipps and
Elizabeth ?.

part of my plantation, described, containing 11 acres, and 2 tracts of
woodland in W. Fallowfield, cont. about 25 acres of land each. To my son
Crosby's son Joshua a tenement and lot of land in West Marlborough and 2
1/2 acres woodland in W. Fallowfield. to son Crosby the remainder of my
plantation lying on Doe Run and abt 11 acres of woodland in E. Fallowfield,
and to son Isaac $200.00. Remainder to sons Elisha and Crosby Phipps, who
are exrs.

Caleb Phipps is listed as having 5 slaves in 1780, W. Fallowfield. (F & C
pg. 424)

Caleb to be canceled. to dau Mary wife of Isaac Lewis 100 pd, to dau

Joseph Phipps b. July 29, 1671 in Abington, England d. 11-1762 in Chester
narrued to Mary Woodyear b. June 27, 1671 and died abt 1716...they married
in 1693-4 Joseph son of yet another Joseph and wife Sarah.

Susannah Crosby was born 13 Dec. 1742 in chester, the daughter of John
Crosby, Jr and Eleanor Culin. She died June 8 1806 in Londongrove.
John Crosby Jr was born 4 June 1721 the son of John Crosby Sr and wife
Susanna?...He died 9 Sept 1788 in Ridley Twp. HE married Eleanor culin on 6
May 1740 in Old Swede's Church, Wilmingon , DE.

John Crosby Sr was born 8 Aug, 1672 cheshire England and died Sept 22, 1750
in Ridley, TWP, where he is buried. I do not know his wife's surname. He
was the son of richard Crosby and Eleanor Done.

Richard Crosby was born abt 1647 in Moore, Cheshire England and died May,
1718 in chester. He married Eleanor done in Cheshire on May 15, 1669/70.
Eleanor was born June 2, 1712, and died June 2, 1717 chester co. He is
listed as having 1000 acres in the parish of Runcorn, Bucklow, in Cheshire

Eleanor Culin was the child of George Culin and Margaret Morton. she was
born abt 1723 in chester and died 7 July, 1793 in Media, Cumberland, PA.

George Culin was born abat 1675 in Pa, the son of John Van Culin and Annakey
Johannson. He died in Feb 1736 in Pa . Johan gave his age as 66 in 1687
and the first evidence of his presence on the Delaware river was when land
was granted to him in 1679. He was boen in Finland. His wife, Anna, was
the principal accuser in a witchcraft trial in 1684....he probably died
aroun 1704/5 as that was wahen he deeded his property to his son.

Margaret Morton was born 27 March 1688 in chester, the daughter of Morton
Morton, Jr and Margaret Bartlesson.

Morton Morton Jr was born about 1646 in Sweden, the son of Morton Mortonson,
Sr and died 21 Dec. 1718 in Calking Hook, Ridley Twp, Chester and buried 23
Dec. 1718.

Morton Mortonson, Sr, was born abt 1606 in Finland and died 29 May, 1706 in
Ammasland, Ridley Twp, chester and buried 31 May, 1706.... He arrived on
the Orn, in 1654.His residence was in Amosland, a little west of
Muckinipattus creek where he resided as early as 1672.

Margaraet Bartlesson was born around 1674, and was the daughter of Bartil
Eskilsson, and died around 1716 in chester.

I hope I have everything straight...it's kind of hard to do this "all of a
piece" so to speak. I would encourage you to do some reading on the Swedish
settlement of Pa, and the early Quakers, both of which are in your
families......they're both so intresting!
There is more on the Phipps (the early stuff is not documented by me) and
more on the woodyears,but this ought to keep you busy for now!
