In the latest Issue of Chester County Town and Country Living, (Springh 2001)
there is an excellent article about the Hosannah Church (near Lincoln
University in Upper Oxford Twp) and the people who attended it. The families
were a mixture of African, Native American and white (Irish).
It is an excellent article of interest to anyone studying Chester Co. history
and genealogy, the history of African-American in early Pennsylvania, and
particularly to those who are researching the WALL (O'WALL, WALLS) DRAPER,
HINSON & FITZGERALD surnames. It also gives a comprehansive history of the
Hosannah African Union Methodist Protestant Church.
