I, too, am looking for any family information for a Mary CARPENTER who
married a Samuel LIGHTCAP. They lived in Pottstown on the 1850 census I
found, showing her age as 24 making her born about 1826. She had two
children then, Ellen age 5 and John age 1. I have no further
information on her. Her husband, Samuel LIGHTCAP, was an engineer for
the railroad. It is believed his family was from Germantown before
moving out further into PA. Could she be a relative of your CARPENTER?
