Joseph:
I can't give you a definite answer on the parents of your Abraham
Jefferis who married Mary Heald (I think I've seen them in my
research, but can't find anything in my notes, which probably means
your Abraham is further away than a first cousin to my Jefferis line).
However, it is all but certain your Abraham is a descendant of
Robert Jefferis (c1670-1738) and Jane Chandler (1676-1726). I would
guess a great-grandson or great-great grandson.
A place to start looking is The Jefferis Family by Gilbert Cope
as microfilmed by LDS for its Family History Centers. The book
itself is short and only deals with a couple generations, but on the
microfilm it is followed by Cope's handwritten Jefferis genealogy
carried out through several generations (in my case it comes down all
the way to my great-great grandmother). It is very likely that your
Abraham is there.
I'm sure that you've figured out that among the wills sent to you
by Karen that the one from Pennsbury, Sept. 20, 1824, is definitely
your Abraham. But in case you might think some of the others might be
closely related, I should tell you they are not. They are all related
to my four-great grandfather Abraham Jefferis (1763-1822) who married
first Martha Way and second Ann Sharpless. This Abraham is a son of
William Jefferis Jr. and Hannah Darlington and great-grandson of
Robert and Jane.
Hope the microfilm is the clue you need.
