There's an online version of Chester county 1857 census at ancestry.com.
One needs to subscribe to access those files; but they do have lots of
other census, vital, and court records that may justify, at least, a
short term subscription.
The 1857 census lists head of household and occupation only. You can
search by name or soundex. For that matter, you can search just for
township and the county name and get a list of everyone in that
