Dorothea M. Brown, a former businesswoman, died Saturday, July 6,
2002, at Sunbridge Care Center in Monterey, Calif.
Born Dec. 3, 1911, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Simeon and Mary
McCLINTOCK.
She graduated from Franklin High School and Welch's Business School.
Mrs. Brown moved from Franklin to California with her husband, R.W.
Brown, in 1946 and lived in Carmel and Pebble Beach.
The couple owned Richard's Men's Wear in Monterey for 30 years.
Mrs. Brown was a member of Eastern Star of Monterey, the Children's
Home Society and the First Presbyterian Church of Monterey.
She loved traveling and playing golf and bridge.
She is survived by a son, Ron Brown of Monterey; a granddaughter,
Lauren Brown; two nieces and a nephew.
Her husband, Ronald W. Brown, preceded her in death in 1972.
Memorial services were held July 15 at the Presbyterian Church in
Monterey.
KAREN K. FISHER
Karen K. Fisher, 56, formerly of Franklin, died Sunday, Aug. 11,
2002, in her home in Boise, Idaho.
Born Sept. 11, 1945, in Kellogg, Idaho, she was the daughter of the
late William and Elma KINDSVATER.
She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1963 as the class
valedictorian. She attended the University of Idaho and Clarion
University, graduating in 1996.
Mrs. Fisher was employed at the time of her death by the Women's and
Children's Alliance in Boise.
While living in the Franklin area, she worked in the family business
of Fisher & Father.
Mrs. Fisher was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Route
417, Franklin.
She enjoyed cross-stitching, cooking, reading and spending time with
her family and brought encouragement to all she came in contact with.
Surviving are two sons, Shane Fisher and his wife, Susan, of Oil City
and Brandon Fisher and his wife, Amy, of Bolingbrook, Ill.; and two
grandchildren, Seth Fisher of Oil City and Sarah Fisher of
Bolingbrook.
She also is survived by her twin sister, Karla VAIL of Meridian,
Idaho; two brothers, Bill Kindsvater of Fountain Hills, Ariz., and Bob
Kindsvater of Enumclaw, Wash.; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Fisher was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ken
Kindsvater.
A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the
family.
