Martin's father was Henry Shiffer and his father was Conrad Shiffer. Conrad is buried in Plains, Luzerne Co., PA next to the river. His head stone says he was born as Conrath Schiffer on 20 May 1742 and died 20 may 1820. Henry's wife was Elizabeth Fyre. Conrad's wife was Rachel Ward. All of them lived in Plainfield twp, Northamton Co, PA. I have seen the tax records of Conrad's farm their. They also attended the Reformed Luthern Church and George Shiffer is buried there. Henry and Elizabeth are buried in Wilkes - Barre, Luzerne Co, PA. Martin went to KS during the land grab of the 1850s - 1870s. He was born in Wilkes- Barre I think. Hope this helps.
