JAMES BILLOTTE
James Billotte, 53, of Perry Township, Clarion County, husband of
Debra Jordan Billotte, died suddenly of natural causes Sunday morning,
March 23, 2003, at his residence.
The H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Parker, is in charge of
arrangements.
A complete obituary will be published Tuesday in The Derrick.

MARGARET E. FIELY
Margaret E. Fiely, 79, of 102 S. Main St., Seneca, died at 2:50 p.m.
Saturday, March 22, 2003, at her residence.
Born Aug. 3, 1923, in Oil City, she was the daughter of Charles W.
and Mary Ann Mayne Frantz.
She attended the Oil City schools.
Mrs. Fiely was employed from 1967 to 1986 at the Oil City Hospital.
She enjoyed bingo and shopping with her friends.
Mrs. Fiely was married Aug. 8, 1942, to Elmer J. Fiely Sr., who died
Nov. 17, 1994.
Surviving are four children, Mrs. Edward (Shirley) Moronski of
Titusville, Mrs. Raymond (Karol) Miller, Elmer J. Fiely Jr. and Ronald
E. Fiely, all of Franklin; 10 grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend,
Bertha Clark.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Fiely was preceded in
death by three brothers, Charles Frantz, George Frantz and William
Frantz; and a sister, Minnie Hubbard.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the Morrison
Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral
home.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Clarion Visiting Nurses
or Hospice.

LEAH HUDSON GEORTZ
Leah Hudson Geortz, 82, of Orchard Manor Nursing Home, Grove City,
formerly of Butler and Bruin, died of natural causes at 6:30 a.m.
Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Orchard Manor.
Born Aug. 7, 1920, in Alliance, Ohio, she was the daughter of John T.
and Kathleen Smith Hudson.
Mrs. Geortz was a member of the Parker United Methodist Church and
was a member and past president of the United Methodist Women. She was
a former member and officer of the Grove City District United
Methodist Women.
After moving to Butler, she became a member of Christ Community
Methodist Church.
Mrs. Geortz was a former member and president of the Chicora Area
Republican Women.
In her earlier years, she was active along with her husband in
providing assistance to the IOOF Home, now known as Orchard Manor,
Grove City.
Mrs. Geortz was married Oct. 4, 1941, to Claire E. Geortz, who died
July 12, 1997.
Surviving are one sister, Cecile Nunamaker of St. Petersburg; two
half sisters, Carol Hosey of Emlenton RD 3 and Delores Stants of
Callensburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the H. Jack
Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street, Parker.
Funeral services will be held at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral
home with the Rev. David Bowman, pastor of the Parker United Methodist
Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Parker Presbyterian Cemetery.

MIRIAM A. GOHEEN
Miriam A. Goheen, 82, of New Bethlehem, died Saturday afternoon,
March 22, 2003, in the home of her son in Distant, where she recently
resided after a lengthy illness.
Born May 29, 1920, in New Bethlehem, she was the daughter of Edward
Clyde and Annabelle Martz Shilling.
Mrs. Goheen was a homemaker and was a Protestant.
She was married to James Grant Goheen, who died Aug. 20, 1996.
Surviving are a son and his wife, Kevin and Debra Goheen of Distant;
and two grandchildren, James L. Goheen and Robert J. Goheen, both of
Distant.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Goheen was preceded in
death by a brother, Paul Shilling; and two sisters, Mrs. Geraldine
Carlson and Mrs. Josephine Kunselman.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m.
Tuesday in the Rupert Funeral Home in New Bethlehem.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home
with the Rev. Jimmy Swogger officiating.
Interment will follow in the Leatherwood Cemetery in Porter Township,
Clarion County.

WILLIAM HARTSUYKER SR.
William Hartsuyker Sr., 86, of Fertigs Road, Venus, died early
Saturday morning, March 22, 2003, at his home.
Born Oct. 7, 1916, in Grand Rapids, Mich., he was the son of Gerrit
and Katrina DeCarpenter Hartsuyker.
Mr. Hartsuyker worked as a water well driller for 30 years for B&R
Diamond Drilling of El Cajon, Calif.
He was married Dec. 18, 1937, in the Wedding Chapel in Santa Ana,
Calif., to Sylvia Marie Combe, who survives.
In 1960 they moved to Florida and lived near Tampa where he had been
a warehouse manager for K.A. Pressure & Associates. They moved to
Fertigs in 1980.
Mr. Hartsuyker was a member of the Fertigs United Methodist Church.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four children, Teresa Marie
Puleo and husband, the Rev. Joseph Puleo, of New Paris; William
Hartsuyker Jr. and wife, Arlene, of Oklahoma, Garrett Louis Hartsuyker
of Sanford, Calif., and Lloyd Everett Hartsuyker and wife, Lynne, of
Fertigs; 20 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
He also is survived by one sister, Elizabeth Klein of Anaheim, Calif.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers,
Henry and Garrett Hartsuyker; and a son, Richard Henry Hartsuyker, in
1952.
Friends may call from noon to 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Fertigs United
Methodist Church in Fertigs.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the church with
the Rev. John Hickman, pastor, and the Rev. James Bartholomew, retired
pastor, officiating.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
The Faller Funeral Home in Fryburg is in charge of arrangements.

ERNEST RAYMOND HUDDLESON
Ernest Raymond Huddleson, 94, a resident of the Oil City Presbyterian
Home, died at 5:55 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, in UPMC Northwest,
Franklin.
He was a former resident of the Pleasantville area.
Born Aug. 16, 1908, in Penn Station, he was the son of George L. and
Annie E. Loveday Huddleson.
Mr. Huddleson was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S.
Army.
He was a self-employed well driller for Quaker State and then for
Beck Drilling in Pleasantville.
Mr. Huddleson spent his winters in Matlacha, Fla., from October to
April.
He enjoyed driving in the country and loved to fish.
Mr. Huddleson was married May 13, 1959, to the former Elva Ludwick,
who died Jan. 26, 2002.
Surviving are a son, Theodore Huddleson and his companion, Mary
Carpenter, of Coca Beach, Fla.; three daughters, Mrs. Patrick (Debbie)
Haibach of Seagoville, Texas, Mrs. John (Roxanne) Harbison of Fertigs
and Mrs. Dale (Tina) Drenning of Mercer; nine grandchildren, Andrew
Haibach and Jennifer Haibach, both of Seagoville, Texas, John D.
Harbison, David Harbison, Chris Harbison and Rene Harbison, all of
Fertigs, Michael Harbison, serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Lee, Va.,
and Alan Wright and Kayla Drenning, both of Mercer; and several nieces
and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Huddleson was preceded in
death by three brothers, Theodore Huddleson, Harold Huddleson and an
infant; and three sisters, Annie Elizabeth Parsons, Louisa Cummins and
Faye Huddleson.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the Venus United
Evangelical Church with the Rev. Richard Kightlinger, pastor,
officiating.
The Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

OLIVE D. BROWN JALOSKY
Olive D. Brown Jalosky, 81, of 201 W. Sixth St., Oil City, died
Friday, March 21, 2003, in her home.
Born Sept. 22, 1921, in Elizabeth, she was the daughter of Thomas
Brown and Esther Brown Motter.
Mrs. Jalosky was a Sunday school teacher, prayer warrior, gifted
pianist and organist and a devout American patriot.
She enjoyed reading her Bible, writing poems and songs, and
traveling, which included a visit in 1995 to Israel.
Mrs. Jalosky was married by the Rev. Clair Ralston Wick on May 15,
1939, in Edward's Chapel, Finleyville, to the Rev. Andrew L. Jalosky,
who survives.
Also surviving are 10 children and their spouses, David and Dawn
Jalosky of Donegal, Eunice Gricks and Kenneth and Miriam Sherene, all
of Oil City, Robert and Rebekah Warring of Meadville, Thomas and Penny
Jalosky of Surfside Beach, S.C., David and Rachel Ossoff of Oil City,
Ralph and Lois Pleczkowski of Pittsburgh, Kenneth and Dorcas Meddock
of Seneca, Wayne and Joanna Wedburg of Jamestown, N.Y., Susanna Casey
of Oil City and fiance,Merle Geisey of Seneca; 33 grandchildren; and
33 great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by a brother, William Richardson "Billy" Brown
and wife, Betty, of Aztec, N.M.; a sister, Alice Brown Pizzadili of
Lewes, Del.; three stepbrothers, Winfield Motter of Palm Harbor, Fla.,
Ralph Motter of Monaca and Harry Motter of Dunedin, Fla.; and a
stepsister, Dorothy Champney of Clearwater, Fla.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jalosky was preceded in death by her
stepfather, John Motter; and three sons-in-law, Ronald E. Gricks, the
Rev. David L. Anderson and James E. Casey.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Morrison
Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Free
Methodist Church, Wilson Avenue, Oil City.
Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery in Dempseytown.

GLADYS MAE McDONOUGH
Gladys Mae McDonough, 89, of Shippenville, Paint Township, died at
7:20 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2003, in Clarion Hospital.
Born Oct. 11, 1913, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of Sebastian
and Catherine McCabe Tucci.
Mrs. McDonough retired in 1975 to take care of her husband after
holding various jobs in Pittsburgh.
She was of the Catholic faith.
Mrs. McDonough enjoyed crocheting, watching television and taking
care of her dog, April.
She was married in October 1931 to Thomas "Tammy" McDonough, who
preceded her in death.
Surviving are one daughter, Donna McDonough of Shippenville, with
whom she resided for the past six years; a sister, Cecelia Walker of
Oakmont; two brothers, Luke Tucci of Oakmont and Raymond McCabe of
Pittsburgh; a number of nieces and nephews; and a close friend, Debra
Darr, and family.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. McDonough was preceded
in death by one daughter, Catherine Patty McDonough; one brother,
James "Buster" Tucci; and two sisters, Florence Shook and Mary Helen
Wuenschell.
There will be no visitation.
Private funeral services for the family only will be held at 11 a.m.
Tuesday in the Thomas D. English Funeral Home in Oakmont.
Interment will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion was in charge of local
arrangements.

DOROTHY A. POWER
Dorothy A. Power, 79, of 737 15th St., Franklin, died at 2:05 p.m.
Saturday, March 22, 2003, in UPMC Northwest, Franklin.
Born May 17, 1923, in North Braddock, she was the daughter of John
Andrew and Lillian A. Saunders Smith.
She graduated from high school in the Pittsburgh area. She attended
Geneva College and graduated from Beaver Community College Nursing
School with honors.
Mrs. Power worked as an LPN in the Intensive Care Unit of Franklin
Medical Center, retiring in 1982.
She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church in Oil City at the time
of her death and was a past member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Mrs. Power enjoyed knitting, crocheting, embroidery and especially
her grandchildren.
She was married May 23, 1943, to R. Dale Power, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Mrs. Alan F. (Diane) McClelland,
Dale F. Power and his wife, Cindi, and Mrs. Giles L. (Dorothy) Bailey
Jr., all of Franklin; five grandchildren, Joseph A. Cardinal and wife,
Patty, of Beaver Falls, Michel E. Herr and wife, Nichole, Israel R.
Power and wife, Heather, Jessica J. Bailey and Hannah M. Bailey, all
of Franklin; and five great-grandchildren, Anthony J. Cardinal of
Chambersburg, Ashley N. Lokey and Zachary J. Lokey of Beaver Falls;
and Courtney M. Alcorn and Grace Noel Power of Franklin.
Mrs. Power was preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law,
Alan F. McClelland.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9
p.m. Tuesday in the Huff Chapel, 312 W. Park St., Franklin.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral
home with the Rev. Philip Scherr, pastor of Good Hope Lutheran Church,
Oil City, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
The family suggests donations be made to the Visiting Nurses
Association of Venango County (Private Duty Section), 176 E. Bissell

BENEDETTO 'BEN' BAGNATO RUBY
Benedetto "Ben" Bagnato Ruby, 61, of the 900 block of St. Andrew's
Reach, Chesapeake, Va., died Friday, March 21, 2003, in a Chesapeake
hospital.
He was born in Oil City, the son of the late James and Tene Ruby.
Mr. Ruby was a retail executive for many years.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Chesapeake.
Mr. Ruby took pride in his professional achievements and was very
fond of his grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter and husband, Terri and Simon Hounslow of
Chesapeake, Va.; a son and his wife, Sam and Carolyn Ruby of Raleigh,
N.C.; and four grandchildren, Ray, Nicole, Christopher and Catherine.
He also is survived by a sister and her husband, Ronnie and Bill
Beith of Franklin; and a brother and his wife, Jim and Nancy Ruby of
Oil City.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March
23, in Prince of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Christian
Haydinger presiding.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Gregory Catholic School in
Virginia Beach, Va.
The H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Chesapeake Chapel, 1501 Colonial
Ave., Norfolk, Va., is in charge of arrangements.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date in St. Stephen
Church, Oil City.

DONALD R. SHOUP
Donald R. Shoup, 77, a native of Rimersburg, died at 2:45 a.m.
Sunday, March 23, 2003, in Beverly Healthcare-Clarion, where he had
resided.
Born April 25, 1925, in Rimersburg, he was the son of Samuel and Cora
Mentzer Shoup.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy in the
South Pacific.
Mr. Shoup had been employed as parts manager at the former Gross
Motors in Clarion.
He was a member of the VFW Post No. 7132 in Rimersburg.
Surviving are two daughters, Laura L. Eisenman of Indian Trail, N.C.,
and Ruth Brown of Erie; three grandchildren; and five
great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Dolores Mortimer of Edinboro
and Mrs. Joseph (Beverly) Summerville of Everett; and one brother,
James Shoup of Rimersburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will receive friends from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday in the
Varner Funeral Home of Rimersburg.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home
with the Rev. James Eaton, pastor of the Rimersburg United Methodist
Church, officiating.
Interment will follow in Rimersburg Cemetery.

Betty J. Bigley - Betty J. Bigley, 82, formerly of North Third
Avenue, Clarion, died Friday in Sunrise Assisting Living, Severna
Park, Md.
