Hello everyone,
I have noticed a recent interest in the Clearfield Co., AP Historical
Society and thier holdings. I don't know that all of you are aware but we
have had a website for the past few months and it has been pretty busy. We
are still in our infancy and as such there is still much to be added. Some
of the things planned are the entire holdings of the society, a virtual
tour, and possibly some internet interactivity. My suggestion is that each
of you take the time to visit and sign the guestbook, by doing this you
will be telling the Board of Directors what you would like to see on this
website. They are after all the ones who ultimatly make the decisions. I
was there recently on vacation and met with members of the board to discuss
the website and they are open to suggestions. I brought up the possibility
of making purchases over the internet. They all liked the idea but I have
not heard if they have made a decision as of yet. I do know they would like
the website to generate more memberships to the society. As well as make
known the availability of thier publications ( which are on-line with an
on-line order form). We have also provided the services they provide with
pricing for all. All in all there is a ton of info there and with some
feedback from you the users I think we can offer even more. I for one would
like to be able to do more with my research on-line. That is why I
volunteered my time to make this website possible. As of right now we
really only have one website that provides us with any kind of records to
use, we owe that to the hard work of Nate and Alice. If it weren't for the
cemeteries listings we would have very little to use on-line. My goal is to
get more info available on the net for us long-distance researchers. I
think that includes most of us. So I invite you to pay a visit to the
website and sign the guestbook to let the Board know what you would like to
see on this website.
