To those interested in Shimmels.
I have Shimmels intersecting with Waples at several points,mostly in
Clearfield Co. Would like feedback on how much of this is right--or at least
matches what you have. I would like to follow the generations down if anyone
can help on that.

2-1 Catherine Ann Waple, b 2 Sept 1838
m. Henry A. Shimmel abt. 1857. He was b. 1832 in Boggs Township, Clearfield
Co., PA, son of George W. Shimmel Jr. and Margaret ?.
3-1 Anna Adeline Shimel
3-2 James Shimmel, b. 1864
3-3 Francis Shimmel, b. 1867
3-4 Alfred Shimmel
3-5 Julia Shimmel, b. 1873

m. Luther Harvey Williams, b. 1843, d. 1917. He was son of Edward Hurd
Williams and Elizabeth Schmehl

b. Jul 1866 in PA on the 15 July 1893, Clearfield, PA. His parents were Henry
Ellis Shimmel and Mararet Elizabeth Hummel. Children:

m. Zana S. Hummel abt. 1918
4-2 Ethel E. Shimmel b. Jan 1899 in PA

2-7. CHARLES RALSTON WAPLE, b. 4-24-1850; farmer; d. Clearfield
5/22/1934--estate index #15518. House he was born in is still standing.
Buried at Bigler Cemetery. Tombstone says 1850-1934, Pvt Co. E 5th Regt. PA
Vol. Metal veterans sign says Cuba, Puerto Rico, and Philippine Islands War.
His second wife:
m. (2) Ellen (Ella) S. Warren, b. 7-1870, d. 1951 at the homestead in
Clearfield Co. Her parents were Nathaniel A. Warren and Catherine Shimmel.
Estate index: #21178. Found the following births at Clearfield County
courthouse:*
Others filled in by the Mason family.
3-11. *Edward R. Waple, b. 5/2/1895 Boggs Township--father a
farmer. This must be Raymond, of which Leroy Mason spoke so highly. He was
married twice, his leg was hurt in the service, lived Akron, Ohio, and used
to come back to Clearfield. "He was the nicest one of the whole bunch.")
3-12 *Edna C. Waple, b. 7/6/1898 Boggs Township--father a soldier (possibly
Spanish-American War veteran?) at the time she was born. Died 1982.
m. John T. Haines on 20 Oct 1917, b. 21 Aug 1898 at Sanborn, Clearfield Co.,
no children, d. 1983. His parents: Thomas Haines and Margaret Richner.
3-13. Patrick Waple
3-14. John Waple—went West to Colorado mines, died young
3-15. Edie Waple, m. Clark Parks, had children, he lives
Clearfield.in 5/2000; has a daughter who owns a flower shop in Philipsburg.
3-16 *Malinda (on county birth records) (she was called Minnie
Belinda) Waple, b. 12/14/1899 Boggs Township--father a fireman; m. Leroy
Mason, b 25 Nov 1900. Leroy’s family came from a plantation in Virginia. His
grandfather lost his leg at Gettysburg. John Mason is the furthest back he
can trace. For the last 20 years before retirement, Leroy was clay mine
foreman at General refractory Co. at Woodland, Clearfield Co. Was at Morgan
Run before that.
Roy and Minnie m. May 26, 1917, had 7 children, all still living in 2000 but
three grandchildren have died:
