Miss Carrie TROXELL is visiting in Tyrone.
Miss Mertie SOUDERS is visiting her friend Miss Elizabeth TROUTWINE in
Tyrone.
Miss Leah SCHENCK of the third ward is visiting her cousin, Miss Mabel
KNARR, of DuBois.
Jim MAXWELL, Fred SMITH and Howard PLETCHER were at Tyrone Sunday seeing
their best girls.
Mrs. J.J. McNERNEY visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John FLANIGAN at
Gillintown, this week.
Henry LIVERIGHT and daughter, of Philadelphia, spent Sunday here at A.M.
LIVERIGHT's Locust Street.
Mrs. Edward LEWIS of Mt. Union stopped here Tuesday on her way to Grampian
to visit her father, Dr. J. CURRIER.
Mr. and Mrs. Adam GEESEY and son, of York, Pennsylvania, were the guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Henry MARKLE of the third ward, last week.
Mrs. BEAUSEIGNER, Mrs. T.W. MOORE the latter's daughters, Louise and
Madaline, and son Bud, spent last week at the Pan-American, returning
Saturday.
M.G. BROWN is home from his lumber operations on Three Runs and will remain
for the summer. He has spent the past two years on the John Rohn lands.
Con ALLEN, John MEAGHER and several of the Temperance Cadet delegates to the
Punxsutawney convention from Houtzdale called Wednesday evening on their way
home.
Mr. and Mrs. Andrew TAYLOR and children of Cumberland, Maryland, visited at
Wesley LEASURE's, Cherry Street, last week and this. Mrs. TAYLOR is a
sister of Mr. LEASURE.
Rev. Father Joseph CAULEY of Erie who was temporarily in charge of St.
Francis congregation in this place from July 1897-July 1898 visited Father
CAVANAUGH this week.
Frank BARRETT of Selma, Cal. was here the past week visiting his sister,
Mrs. W.D. BIGLER and the many friends of his boyhood. He has courted Dame
Fortune successfully for many years and is now on Easy Street.
J.B. VALIMONT, of Covington, came up last week accompanied by his little
grandson, Norman.
Frank SHORT who went to Philadelphia to have his eyes treated by Dr. L.
Webster FOX, the noted specialist, is home much improved. Frank was in the
Medico Chi. hospital during the very hot spell and saw heat victims by the
score brought in for relief.
