Passed Over the River

FLEMING
Thomas E. FLEMING, one of the leading citizens of Centre Co. died at his home in Moshannon Tuesday, July 10, 1901 aged 68 years and 7 days. Mr. FLEMING was born near Monroe Furnace, July 3, 1833 and he spent the greater portion of his life in Centre Co. When the Civil War broke out he went to the front, enlisting June 8, 1861 in Co. E, Fifth Penn'a. Reserves of which the late James H. LARIMER of Clearfield was Captain. He was honorably discharged at the expiration of his term of enlistment June 4, 1864. He participated in all the leading battles in which the army of the Potomic was engaged. Mr. FLEMING was an active member in the Presbyterian Church and always took deep interest in church work. He was survived by his wife and nine children who mourn the loss of a kind and loving husband and father who was devoted to his family in every possible way. One son Joseph S. is agent for the NYC at Morrisdale, David B. is train dispatcher at Jersey Shore, Charles S. and Thoma!
s E. live at Moshannon; Mrs. Minnie BOWER, Mrs. Ada YENCH and Misses Lizzie and Lucy live at Moshannon. The funeral took place Tuesday, July 12, interment at Askey Cemetery.

BRADLEY
Mrs. Mary BRADLEY, widow of the late William S. BRADLEY died at her home on Fifth Street Sunday evening, July 14, 1901 aged 76 years. Mrs. BRADLEY's maiden name was LINES. When a young woman she was married to William S. BRADLEY and has resided in Clearfield ever since. She was a splendid woman whose innumerable acts of kindness and charity will live long in the memory of those who knew her best. As a neighbor she was most highly esteemed. She is survived by three adopted children, Mrs. William CARNS, Tyrone; W. Frank and Mrs. William LINES, of Clearfield; also by her sisters, Mrs. Daniel STEWART of Bridge Street and Mrs. Henry WHITEHEAD of Union Township and her brother the venerable Jesse LINES of Brady. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Treibley of the Lutheran Church officiating.

BLOOM
Robert Bloom of Curwensville died Tuesday aged 45 years. He was the son of the late William L. BLOOM who lived in the Old Pike in Bloom Township and a brother Phineas BLOOM, of Penna. For many years he was one of the most active timber jobbers in the county. About one year ago his health failed and his reason became impaired. He was taken to the Warren hospital and died there. He was twice married, but both wives predeceased him to the grave. He leaves several sons and daughters. His body was brought to Curwensville Wednesday for burial.

THOMPSON
Bloom Thompson formerly of this county died at Windbur, Somerset Co. Monday July 15, 1901 aged 70 years. Deceased spent his entire life in this county until a couple of years ago he moved to Windbur. He was a lumberman by occupation and was well known on the river for 45 years. At one time he kept hotel at Newburg. He is survived by three sons, Curtis, Howard and Verd. The latter only returned from the Philippines last week. He is also survived by his brother, Irvin THOMPSON, of Curwensville.
