Passed Over the River

Terrence BERRY, well known in and about Clearfield for upwards of 40 years,
died suddenly early Monday morning at the bachelor quarters of William FABER
on Cherry street, aged about 65 years. He had been sick Sunday and Sunday
evening, but those about him did not consider his trouble serious. Early
Monday morning, about four o'clock, "Billy" FABER arose and talked to
"Terry" before he went out. When he returned an hour later "Terry" was
dead.

"Terry" BERRY was a native of Ireland. He came to this country early in the
fifties. He followed "the woods" for many years. During the past 20 years
he worked for the Fire Brick Company. He was a hard-working, industrious man
who never harmed anyone, except himself.. He was never married. His
brothers, Charles and Joseph, both of Clearfield survive him. The funeral
occurred Tuesday. Interment in the Catholic cemetery.

On Thursday, August 8, 1901, Mary, daughter of Amos and Lida PRICE, died at
their home in Pike township, aged 13 months. The interment took place at
the Lutheran cemetery at Bloomington, Rev. W.W. CADLE, officiating.

God gave and from us God hath taken,
Yet while we feel that we're forsaken
By ours where life had just begun,
We meekly say "Thy will be done."
Knowing, that free from aught to harm
Our child rests now on his strong arm
Who said "Of such is heaven."

Isaac C. McCLOSKEY, of Karthaus township, the father of our townsman
Ex-Sheriff E.L. McCLOSKEY and notice of whose illness has appeared from time
to time in these columns, died, at his residence in that township, on
Tuesday evening, August 13, 1901, at 7 p.m., aged 75 years. An extended
notice of this excellent citizen will be given next week.
