Joseph Sechler, along with his brothers, Jacob and John, were early
settlers in the Danville area. In the early 1800s, Joseph died and as
was the custom, a guardian was appointed to oversee the estate of the minor
children and his widow.
About 1818, the estate was distributed to the children, who with the
exception of the son, Jacob, were all married:
Elizabeth Sechler had married Edward Morrison
Friney (Sophrina?) Sechler had married Francis Reese (Charles Francis)
Catherine Sechler had married Christian Mauser
Magdalena Sechler had married Christian Deihl
Mary Sechler had married Peter Rishel.
Although I would enjoy hearing from anyone researching the families
listed above, my questions have to do with Peter Rishel.
Is there anyone on the list that knows if the Peter Rishel who
married Mary Sechler was a son of Martin Luther Rishel of Mahoning
Twp or a Peter from one of the other branches?
Also, in 1850, there was a Peter and Mary Rishel living in Mahoning
Twp. Their children's names were Joseph (he married Phoebe Heimbach);
Mary Rishel and Elizabeth Rishel Barns or Barnd. Is this the Peter
who married Mary Sechler?
Any insight would be appreciated.
