Benjamin GRINNELL father of Morris GRINNELL

This is Benjamin GRINNELL's parents, brothers and sisters.

Gideon GRINNELL
b. 1767 at Tiverton, Rhode Island
d. 1826 at Greenwood Twp., Pa.
He married Abigail WESCOAT in 1790 at N.Y. She was born 1768.
Abigail died:
1861.

they had 10 children:
1. Samuel GRINNOLS b. 19 Jan. 1790 d: 5 Feb. 1868
2. John C. GRINNELL b. Oct. 1791 died: 2 July 1874
3. Nathaniel GRINNELL b. 1792 died: 1869
4. Ruth Delilah GRINNELL b. 23 May 1796
5. Nancy GRINNELL b. 1798 at N.Y.
6. Samantha GRINNELL b. 1799 d: 29 April 1877
7. Alvin G. GRINNELL b. 1803 died: 29 May 1848
8. Jacob GRINNELL b. 15 May 1810 died: 6 June 1896
9. Benjamin GRINNELL b. 20 Aug. 1811 died: 13 March 1890
10. Gideon GRINNELL b. April 1815

Gideon came to Farmington in the 1790's. On Nov. 1, 1800 Gideon
purchased
"72 Acres of land...part of lot 84", next to the property owned by
his
brother John, which has been recorded in March 1799. Gideon married
Abigail
reportedly of Farmington, but more likely of Lanesboro, Mass, around
1790.
It is stated that in the later part of 1810, Gideon moved to Tioga
Co.,
N.Y. but the above 72 acres were deeded by Gideon "of Farmington" to
Timothy ALLEN on the 15 Nov. 1813. Two of his younger sons, however
Jacob (
1810 ) Benjamin ( 1811 ) are shown as being born in Broome and Tioga
Counties N.Y. Sometime later he moved again to Crawford Co., PA
where
perhaps his oldest son John C. had migrated. a record there shows
Gideon
GRINDLE (sic) died in 1826 in Greenwood Twp.
