John Wesley DEARBORN died at his home in Summerhill township, four miles
east of this place on Friday of kidney disease, aged nearly 68 years.
He was sick only about five weeks. Deceased spent his life on the farm
upon which he died. He served during the Civil war as a member of the
Second PA Cavalry, and the last annual reunion of the association last
August was held at his home. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. A. G.
Bartholomow, Mrs. Elton Mathews and Mrs. Ross Campbell, the latter
living at the old home and the others in the vicinity. One brother, A.
L. Dearborn of Commerce, Michigan, and three sisters, Mrs. Margaret
Curtis, Mrs. Wilson Robinson and Mrs. Eliza Robinson, all living near
the old home also survive him... and interment in Dicksonburg cemetery.
The services were in charge of Capt. Stone Post, GAR of Conneautville,
of which deceased was a member.
William H. H. FONNER died at his home in Spokane, Washington, on Sunday,
aged 69 years. Deceased was a native of N. Shenango township, where he
made his home until moving to Washington nearly 19 years ago. He was a
veteran of the Civil war, serving in the Conneautville company of the
145th Regiment and returning home broken in health. The removal to the
Pacific slope was made to try a change of climate, and it is thought
that his life was prolonged by it. He leaves a wife, oldest daughter of
Robert S. McKay of Linesville, formerly of Conneautville, and six
daughters all in Washington. Of his father's family one brother, Silas
FONNER of N. Shenango survive him.
