Hello,
I think I have not posted my MORRIS family in a while and as you see they are
in Crawford County. There may be another James in the Spring Twnship? ( which
I know NOTHING about) who is related to us.
MY Morris tend to be those in CRAWFORD County born in NEW YORK.
I have spied the other James and he is 23 in 1850 in Hirams house and in
Spring Twnshp later. The point is we are missing a JOHN MORRIS b. 1800 NY who
may have died and his son James went to live with HIRAM and then he went out
on his own. WE are also missing a JOHN MORRISb 1765 who died after 1840 and
I can not find him buried and he might be in Crawford County. Please keep me
in mind when you site a MORRIS!
SO if you have any of these souls you will find following I have a good
amount of information for you.

Hiram Morris born: February 6, 1805, NY Died 1871, Meadville , Fairfield
Twnshp,Pa.
Married:1827
1. Delana Gorton born January 22 , 1804 Painted Post, Stuben Co. NY Died
Meadville, Pa 1851
2. Mary Davis (she was paproxamately 12 years younger) in Fairfield Township
Crawford County near Meadville ,Pa.
Refenences picture of tombstone , the Life and times of Samuel Gorton and
His Descendents published 1907 and Clarisa Morris family bible published in
the Flint Genealogical Magazine1978 and in Michigana Genealogical Magazine
in 1983.I have Hiram Morris will.
NOTE : Hiram Morris's middle name changes as to spelling in the
publications( Willis, Willer, Weller) and in the 1850 census of Maeadville
Pa. Hirams son Hiram does not use the name Hiram he uses Willis.

Francis Morris born Feb 1830, NY married Elizabeth Trace
NOTE: Other researchers say his first name was John but uses Francis
Matilda Morris born Oct. 2, 1831 NY d. July 9, 1833
Dyanthia Morris born Sept.16 1833 NY married Street Beard
NOTE: Dyanthia uses the name Henrietta **/letters
Rachel Matilda Morris born June 2,1835 NY died September 7,1836
Hiram Willis Morris born 1838? NYmarried Barbara Mossinger
NOTE:She was residing in Meadville 1907. Wiilis from 1850 census
William Henry Harrison Morris born October 11, 1840 PA. married Opha J.
Dougerty

John Benson Morris born July 8th 1842,PA.married Amelia Vandalia Alsbaugh **

James Edgar Morris born June 11,1844 PA. died September 9, 1846
Clarissa Josephine Morris born April 9,1846PA. married Issac E. Dean
NOTE: Have her Funeral book. She died in Oil City.
Robert Erastus Morris born April 28th , 1848 Pa. married Elizabeth Wasson
Note: relocated to Wichita with John many notes etc.
2. Catherine D. Morris b.circa 1853 married John Anderson
NOTE: Known as Katie and the moved to Ohio in the Toledo area. Many notes
letters and references
SO there are a few , Hiram has a brother and a sister and in 1842 they move
to Michigan to Oxford Oakland County. Hiram moves to Meadville in 1838 and in
1851/2 to Fairfield. The bibles etc and old postcards all say SHAWS LANDING
Pa, Some of the MORRIS stayed there and some moved on. AS I said if I find a
cousin here then I have much to share .
