OBITUARIES:

The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth GURNSEY was held at 3 o'clock on
Wednesday afaternoon from Christ Episcopal Church, the church of the
family, with a large attendance of relatives and friends and many floral
tributes to the memory of an earnest Christian woman. The service of
the Episcopal Church was conducted by the rector, Rev. Arthur L. SEITER,
and the interment was made by the side of her husband in Greendale
Cemetery, the following friends of the family assisting as bearers.
Albert R. HUIDEKOPER, J. Park JACKSON, Dr. C. Courtenay McLEAN, Francis
M. GRAFF, John E. REYNOLDS and W.S. TROWBRIDGE.
Death of Ward YORK
Meadville friends were grieved Thursday to learn that Ward YORK, a
former Erie Railroad conductor, and a son of Joseph YORK, deceased, who
was an A and G. W.R. R. conductor, died at Jacksonville, Fla., on
Wednesday. Mr. YORK attended the annual reunion of the A. and G.W. held
here a short time ago and was accompanied here by his mother, Mrs.
Elvira YORK. At the time he stated that his health was not very good,
but there were few persons who believed that the end was so near. Mr.
YORK formerly lived here and he was well and favorably known. While
attending the A. and G.W. reunion he was a guest at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. S.H. WHIPPLE, Baldwin Street, he leaving for Jacksonville the
latter part of September.
MATRIMONIAL:
WHIPPLE-WOODWORTH
An early morning wedding was celebrated Thursday at 7:30 at the home
of the bride's mother, Mrs. G.S. Woodworth, 353 9rch Street.
The principals in the wedding were Fred F. Whipple and Miss Jean
Woodworth. The chaste and direct service of the Reformed Church in
which the ring service addition was used was read by Rev. Dr. B. Fefer,
of St. Paul's Reformed Church.
The attendants were Fred Woodworth and sister, Marie. The guests
were the mother and sisters of the bride, Mr. and Mrs. H.B. Howells, of
Cleveland, O.; Mr. and Mrs. H.H. Whipple, and Dr. and Mrs. B.B. Ferer.
A wedding breakfast was served. The table decorations were in pink
and white with place cards of true wedding designs. A bell basket of
confetti making a pretty addition to the upper decorations, was before
each guest.
Mr. Whipple is the well know junior member of the firm of H.H.
Whipple & Son, and a prominent young man in fraternal and club circles,
while Mrs. Whipple has made a host of friends during her four years'
residence in Meadville.
A wedding tour to the Southland, which includes Washington, D.C., is
contemplated. They will be at home at the home they have been planning
at the corner of Pine and Catherine Streets.
Enjoy!
