THE Venango county papers contain a letter addressed to WALTER R.
JOHNS, Esq., the editor of the Oil City Register, and signed by Duncan &
Prather, J. W. BONTA, and other prominent citizens, soliciting his
acceptance of the nomination for Representative to the State Legislature.
Mr. JOHNS' extensive acquaintance with the Petroleum interest and
appreciation of the wants of the Venango oil region suggest his peculiar
fitness for the position.
