Oops. I made a small mistake that I didn't catch until I recieved the digest.
My great-grandfather was born in November 1854, not 1852 as I stated below.

> Hi, I recently posted about my French family from the Shenango Twps of Crawford County--My husband's gggrandfather was Thomas French (born 1842 in Crawford County)--his father (according to the 1850 census), was Robert G. French. I was looking for a connection of Robert G. French to either James French (age 57 in South Shenango in 1850) or Robert (age 60 with wife Margaret--living next door to James French).
>
> I have come across an obituary I had in my notebook of a Robert French (an it is a copy of an untitled newspaper) that states:
> FRENCH--In West Shenango, February 28th, 1879, Robert French, a soldier in the War of 1812, aged 79 years
>
> I was wondering if this could be the Robert French in the 1850 census--any information on the obituary would be greatly appreciated!!
> Alison in Phoenix
> PS. Thank you to all the list members for information on Park Lawn Cemetary that I had asked for before!:):)
