Are there Will (or other estate indexes), Deed, and Mortgage indexes at any
library or historical societies that can easily be searched for documents of
this nature for 1835-1870:

Martin WELCH b NY ca 1801 died 5 Aug 1865 Crawford County was married before
1824 to Anna BRADLEY b VT about 1801, died in February 1860. Martin married
2nd Sarah (GILLAM) BROUGHTON after Feb 1860. Sarah renounced her status
with the estate of Martin WELCH in 1867 signing the renunciation as Sarah
[hannald] which was probably Hammond. (Tom Yoset's transcribed
renunciations)

Any leads on Estate or Property papers would be greatly appreciated.
