Hi,
There's not much activity since it got warm. I was wondering if anyone
could give me suggestions as to where to go for a first time visit to
Dauphin County without, hopefully, having to go into Harrisburg.
I'm needing information on John Harman who was listed in 1850 census as
living in Washingtonville Township. This would be the area of
Elizabethville and Lykens. I received information that his wife Rebecca was
Rebecca Kinerson married to a John Matter before John Harman. Her name may
have been Margaret Rebecca Kinerson (also spelled Kenner). She was buried
at St. John's Cemetery, Berrysburg, PA.
I'd like to visit that gravesite and find some library or historical society
that might have the records. From there I'm open to anything that might
have their name connected. I appreciate everyone's help in getting these
leads and would like to follow up. Really don't want to try going to
Harrisburg quite yet.
John married Lavinia Dupendorf after the death of Rebecca and I believe she
might have been from that area also. In the mid 1850's he moved his family
to Clinton County in Greene Twp. There are some questions surrounding the
family as John was married apparently 3 different times. First wife is
unknown at present.
I plan my trip Thursday or Friday of this week. Any suggestions would be
appreciated.
Patsy
