Surname: SHEPP
I have my ggggrandfather John supposedly born in 1822 at or near
Harrisburg, Pa. Wife and parents unknown. His son, Norman, my gggrandfather
was born June 3, 1848 at or near Harrisburg, Pa. I can't find either of
them in the census index for 1840, 1850, 1860, and 1870. I've found Norman
in Ohio in 1880 census and have the complete decendant tree from there on.
I plan to visit Harrisburg about June 14th to search locally.
What records should I look for and where do I find them?
Any and all guidance is really appreciated.
