Hi Tom:
I apologize for this late response to your Oct 31 note. We had just
returned from vacation and my wife came down with viral pneumonia. My
e-mail took back seat and your message got lost.
I don't know the location of my STEELE family. My GG-Grandmother was
Leah STEEL / STEELE, married to Aaron DEAN Aug 31, 1813, in Huntingdon
County, PA. Aaron was part of a long DEAN line known as the Trough
Creek Valley Deans. He and Leah went west to Harlansburg, Mercer County
(now Lawrence County), PA, with a number of other DEAN families in 1818.
Their daughter, Phoebe DEAN, my G-Grandmother, married James RILEY on
Mar 25, 1852, and they lived in Clarks Mills, Mercer Co., PA.
I know nothing of Leah STEEL's background or family, but I continue to
search for that connection which will provide the answers. I will be
interested to see if you can furnish a missing piece to my puzzle.
Regards,
Max James
