Hi, my ancestor, Peter Beinhauer, was born in Efferty, Germany, in 1744. The
next record I have of him is in Lancaster and at some point he moved with his
family to the Hummelstown area. He died in 1818 and is buried in the old
Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hummelstown. Knowing that people from the same
village often emigrated together, does anyone out there have ancestors from
Efferty and do you know where in Germany it is located? Of course, I
realize, that it doesn't have to be located within the borders of today's
Germany, the spelling may not be correct, and the village may not even exist.
Thanks for any light that could be shed on this puzzle.
