I don't know if this will help or not but the PA State Archives has an
attendance book or books for the "Manada Valley School", East Hanover District,
Dauphin County.
The entry covering Nov. 1844 to April 1845 says the school was located near
David Killinger's. The teacher was James S. Hampton "for 4 1/2 months".
There were also entries for the school year Oct. 29, 1849 through March or April
1850.
In 1844 the following children attended:
John Rhoad, Catherine Rhoad, Noah Rhoad and Sophia Rhoad.
In March of 1850 it listed the following children with their ages:
John Rhoad age 16, Noah Rhoad age 13, Aylesbury Rhoad age 10, Edward Rhoad age 8
and Catherine Rhoad age 15.
There were others but I did not copy them as I to was interested in the Rhoads
surname.
Hope this may be of some help.
