Richard,

It depends on your time frame. Prior to 1785 the wills would be listed
in Lancaster County. I believe I have seen people talk about those on
CD. After 1785, they are in the Dauphin County Court House. They are on
microfilm, but the heirs are not extracted. I don't know if that film is
available anywhere else.

Have the Dauphin Co. 1700s wills been abstracted in any publication or
CD?
If so have all the heirs been abstracted in these?
Another researcher gave me a listing of a will of someone who I think
was a
relative of mine dating to 1700's in Dauphin Co. It just listed the wife
in
that abstract and she deleted the source but (she claims) it did not
list
the children. I think the abstract just extended to the testator and
spouse,
and did not go into all the heirs, which I think would be in the
original.

I know Family Tree maker has CDs with abstracts from Lancaster and other
counties, but their brochure does not list any for Dauphin Co. In the
ones I
viewed for Lancater they listed the heirs, though I know members of the
Lancaster site noted that some were not all accurately transcribed.

How long would it take to get a copy of the will from Dauphin Co. I
have
the exact book and page number reference.

Richard
