Hi Roxanne:

I welcome any information regarding my elusive relatives. I am not sure if my ancestors are buried in Shoop's Garden of Rest.

To tell you the truth, I am having a very difficult time trying to locate where my father was born. My grandfather was David H. SNYDER and his wife was Mary HEABNER. My father name was JOHN E. SNYDER, his Social Security application indicates that he was born in Harrisburgh, Pa. on Jan. 30, 1900. My father had two sisters, Joyce & Ruth. I would like to believe that my father gave the correct information on something as important as the SS application.

I sent to the Harrisburg city hall for my Father's birth certificate, they have no record of any Snyder children being born in Harrisburg. Sometimes, I wonder if they look in the proper places for the records.

Thank you for your concern and for giving me the information on the cemetery, it was greatly appreciated.

Betty Lou:

Sorry for butting in here but I see you may have a family member buried at
Shoop's Burial Ground. My search has taken me to Shoop's Garden Of Rest in
Harrisburg which is on Rt. 22. If this is the same place, I should tell you
the lady that works in the office there is very kind and helpful. I called
her and she looked up gravesite locations for me (it's a big cemetary). Two
of the stones in my family section were well worn and I was unable to read
them and I called her back and she gave me the information of the people
buried there. She also told me who purchased the plots. Their phone number
is (717) 545-8121. There is a map of the cemetary which labels the
sections, it's taped to the office window.

Good Hunting,
Roxanne
