I have a township map, but my scanner is down. Dauphin was separated out
from Lancaster and Berks Counties in 1785. In 1813 Lebanon County was
created from Dauphin and Lancaster. The townships will be different
depending on the era. The time period you mention sounds like it would be
before the creation of Dauphin County. I have never been able to find a
boundary map for the time between when Dauphin became a county and the time
Lebanon County was formed. A relative of mine visited the courthouse in
Lebanon earlier this year, and they did not know of the existence of any such
map. The townsite of the town of Lebanon is in Lebanon Township. Early on
the main church records for Lutherans and Reformed were at the Hill Church
near Annville, which is a little west of Lebanon and in North Annville
Township. However, before 1785 my impression was that Lebanon was a very
large township and included much of what is now Lebanon County. Around 1765
or so Salem Lutheran Church was built in Lebanon. The Jacob Bickel you
mentioned was one of the original church wardens. You have to be careful
here because there were several Jacob Bickels in the area. There was a Jacob
Bickel who married Eva Margaretha Iatter in 1758. I think this name was
actually Yetter. This marriage is recorded in Casper Stoever's records. To
the best of my knowledge, the Bickel name was never confused with Binkley.
Often times, however, it was spelled as Pickle or Pickel.
