I was doing some research of my own in the Long Island area and on the
forums of that area and got some interesting replies mentioning that
Capt Albrecht Deibler may have been captured in the battle of long
island. There was only about 400 dead and the Long island Historical
Society has no info on Capt Deilber. They do not have all the Prisoner
Ships cataloged but he may have been held prisoner of the british for
well over six months. The lady I talked to says most of the prisoners
died after 1776 and most did not last more than six months.
