I do have quite a large "book" from the national archives. Unfortunately
within it there seems to be a discrepancy about where in Ireland he was from.
John was apparently illiterate as a lot of folks of that time and depended on
others to write the information down for him. Let me look up his death
again, but it was something like Jan 3rd 1881, I believe. Thanks!! He died due
to gangrene setting into an arm wound from a mining injury. He never saw his
last child born.
