I just noticed that the Chester City Directory from 1888-89 is available
for free at www.ancestry.com until 12/8. Here's a brief description from
the website:

>This database is a transcription of a city directory originally published
>in 1888. In addition to providing the residents' names, it provides their
>addresses and occupational information. The database includes more than
>9,100 names, mostly heads of household.

Here's a direct link:
http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/inddbs/5234.htm

or choose "Recent Databases" from the "Today's New Databases" section on
the right side of the Ancestry.com homepage.

It's worthwhile to check this site every week or so to see what freebies
they're using as "teasers" to get you to sign up.
