I found some possibilities, in the:
Irish Immigrants: New York Port Arrival Records, 1846-1851
from Ancestry.com.

These 8 Thomas McIntyre names showed up arriving New York,
all having about the right age, but no home town or birthplace
was given. But the ship names may prove helpful to you.
